Hello all and I hope your well........
Well this detail was planned to happen a few times but sadly, as I am sure you are all finding, the weather seems to play a part now........:o
That said, the weather looked clear for this Saturday and I agreed with Phil to sort out his girlfriend's Audi A3 that she had not long had..........http://www.forumboyakoruma.com/images/smilies/Detailer[1].gif
Some of you regular readers will notice the location and it's safe to say that I am missing the comfy environment of dooka HQ but I will be back there shortly........:thumb:
So, this was the Audi upon inspection on a cold, foggy early morning:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7471.jpg
As you can see the country roads covered in mud and leaves have taken their toll on the Audi and it really was in need of a deep clean inside and out, so with plenty to get on with the detail began.........:thumb:
The Detail Process:
Now I had agreed with Phil that the main focus of the detail would be the paintwork and the interior, so with this in mind I was kindly joined by my other half to help out on the interior while I paid attention to the paintwork.
Normally I would remove the wheels first and get them sorted but as Phil had ordered some new wheels, it was pointless to spend too much time on them so instead we concentrated on the arches and the front face's of the wheels.
So with one of the arches raised you can see the amount of dirt present:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7477.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7478.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7479.jpg
Each wheel received the same process, with the arch being thoroughly rinsed:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7481.jpg
Megs Wheel Brightener was then applied:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7482.jpg
The arches were then treated to some Megs APC:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7483.jpg
This was then aggitated with a Vikan Arch Brush:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7484.jpg
A Daytona Wheel Brush was used on the wheels:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7485.jpg
This was then rinsed and the wheels then received an application of Iron-X which was then aggiated with an AG Wheel Brush, then rinsed.
Same process on the Rear Wheel Arch:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7472.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7473.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7474.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7475.jpg
As we moved onto the other wheels Kiera got involved working with the AG Wheel Brush and Iron-X:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7476.jpg
After - As stated, no attention really made to the insides of the wheels:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7486.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7487.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7488.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7489.jpg
Next up we decided to attend to the engine bay, so I removed most of the leaves:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7490.jpg
Then with the engine running I rinsed the engine bay:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7491.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7492.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7493.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7494.jpg
In getting all the leaves and twigs out of the various gutter's I had made a bit of a mess on the windscreen and roof:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7495.jpg
Time for some Megs APC:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7496.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7497.jpg
Which was aggitated with a Detailer Brush:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7498.jpg
The underside of the bonnet was covered in a lot of oil and dirt so I decided to foam this and rinse off:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7499.jpg
The whole car was then foamed:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7500.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7501.jpg
The car was then washed using the 2BM and I finally found a place for our Waxstock Stickers:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7502.jpg
The dooka Woolie Wash Pad in action:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7504.jpg
And the 'dooka Pad Pose':
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7503.jpg
The car was then rinsed:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7506.jpg
The car was then covered in Tardis as it was apparent that there was a lot of overspray all over the car........http://www.forumboyakoruma.com/images/smilies/angry2qg6.gif:censored:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7509.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7510.jpg
After a thorough rinsing the car was clayed with Elite Fine Yellow Poly Clay and Megs Last Touch as Lube, which bought little off the paintwork:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7507.jpg
The car was then rinsed and dried and looked as follows:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7515.jpg
At this point Kiera broke out George and began to vac out the worst from the interior:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7514.jpg
My attentions turned to the lovely mess left behind from the number plates on the car that Phil wanted me to get rid of - Before:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7511.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7512.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7513.jpg
Having used plenty of Tardis and Microfibres here is an after:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7516.jpg
Now the car was very grey and it was quite badly swirled in the sunlight but capturing all this outside wasn't easy but upon initial inspection the paintwork looked normal:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7517.jpg
Sadly one of the rear quarter's had seen some work:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7519.jpg
So first up I tried my faithful 'Enhancement Combo' on the Passenger Front Wing, which after some time looked a lot blacker and slicker:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7520.jpg
Compared to the Passenger Door, which was yet to be machined:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7523.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7522.jpg
Meanwhile Kiera had now converted George into 'Wet Mode' and twinned with some Planet Polish Fibre Bright was working wonders on the mats:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7524.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7526.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7528.jpg
Kiera also Wet Vacced the seats and attended to the plastics with some Megs APC and various cloths:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7529.jpg
Many hours later, it was time to put the finishing touches to the Audi, some time was spent on the exhaust with some Autosol and Wirewool - Before:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7530.jpg
After:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7531.jpg
Megs Hyper Dressing was applied to the arches and tyres:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7532.jpg
Any excess was wiped off:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7533.jpg
Aerospace 303 Protectant was applied to the engine bay.
All the glass was cleaned inside and out with some Megs Glass Cleaner.
FK1000P was chosen as the LSP:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7534.jpg
And buffed off:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7535.jpg
This was followed by a Zaino Z8 wipedown........:thumb:

As you will have noticed the interior needs some time to dry out but the car was left for a few days waiting for it's new wheels to arrive........http://www.forumboyakoruma.com/images/smilies/car.gif
Hopefully you can see the improvement in the overall finish of the car as it's looking a lot glossier and more defined, granted plenty of swirls remained but for a few hours detailing the results can be seen.
Massive thanks to Kiera for her support and thanks to Phil for letting us detail this nice little Audi A3..
"Alıntıdır."

Next up we decided to attend to the engine bay, so I removed most of the leaves:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7490.jpg
Then with the engine running I rinsed the engine bay:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7494.jpg
In getting all the leaves and twigs out of the various gutter's I had made a bit of a mess on the windscreen and roof:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7495.jpg
Time for some Megs APC:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7496.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7497.jpg
Which was aggitated with a Detailer Brush:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7498.jpg
The underside of the bonnet was covered in a lot of oil and dirt so I decided to foam this and rinse off:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7499.jpg
The whole car was then foamed:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7501.jpg
The car was then washed using the 2BM and I finally found a place for our Waxstock Stickers:

The dooka Woolie Wash Pad in action:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7504.jpg
And the 'dooka Pad Pose':
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7503.jpg
The car was then rinsed:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7506.jpg
The car was then covered in Tardis as it was apparent that there was a lot of overspray all over the car........http://www.forumboyakoruma.com/images/smilies/angry2qg6.gif:censored:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7510.jpg
After a thorough rinsing the car was clayed with Elite Fine Yellow Poly Clay and Megs Last Touch as Lube, which bought little off the paintwork:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7507.jpg
The car was then rinsed and dried and looked as follows:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7515.jpg
At this point Kiera broke out George and began to vac out the worst from the interior:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7514.jpg
My attentions turned to the lovely mess left behind from the number plates on the car that Phil wanted me to get rid of - Before:

Having used plenty of Tardis and Microfibres here is an after:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7516.jpg
Now the car was very grey and it was quite badly swirled in the sunlight but capturing all this outside wasn't easy but upon initial inspection the paintwork looked normal:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7517.jpg
Sadly one of the rear quarter's had seen some work:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7519.jpg
So first up I tried my faithful 'Enhancement Combo' on the Passenger Front Wing, which after some time looked a lot blacker and slicker:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7520.jpg
Compared to the Passenger Door, which was yet to be machined:

Meanwhile Kiera had now converted George into 'Wet Mode' and twinned with some Planet Polish Fibre Bright was working wonders on the mats:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7528.jpg
Kiera also Wet Vacced the seats and attended to the plastics with some Megs APC and various cloths:

Many hours later, it was time to put the finishing touches to the Audi, some time was spent on the exhaust with some Autosol and Wirewool - Before:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7530.jpg
After:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7531.jpg
Megs Hyper Dressing was applied to the arches and tyres:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7532.jpg
Any excess was wiped off:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7533.jpg
Aerospace 303 Protectant was applied to the engine bay.
All the glass was cleaned inside and out with some Megs Glass Cleaner.
FK1000P was chosen as the LSP:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7534.jpg
And buffed off:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Baker21/Detailing/Audi%20A3%208P%205/IMG_7535.jpg
This was followed by a Zaino Z8 wipedown........:thumb:

As you will have noticed the interior needs some time to dry out but the car was left for a few days waiting for it's new wheels to arrive........http://www.forumboyakoruma.com/images/smilies/car.gif
Hopefully you can see the improvement in the overall finish of the car as it's looking a lot glossier and more defined, granted plenty of swirls remained but for a few hours detailing the results can be seen.
Massive thanks to Kiera for her support and thanks to Phil for letting us detail this nice little Audi A3..
